Netflix Parental Control:How to Set Up Netflix Parental Control
Enabling parental control on screens meant for kids helps censor content and keep children in check even when you the parent are not around to ensure that. Netflix has a lot of kids’ and adult movies but if you fail to control what your child should watch and the ones they shouldn’t they might end up choosing the wrong movies or TV shows to watch unintentionally. Here is a step-by-step guide to helping you set up parental control on the family Netflix account.
- The first thing you have to do is log onto www.netflix.com and log into your Netflix account using your credentials (email address, password).
- In the top right corner of your screen locate the profile icon and select it, click the drop-down menu, and choose “Account”.
- Scroll to “profile and parental control” and click on “add profile” to add your child’s profile and ensure that you have checked the box for kids( checking this box will create a profile for a child)
- The new profile is now created, locate the arrow close to the profile and click to expand the settings, then click on “viewing restrictions” which will require you to provide your Netflix credentials to access this setting. Once you are accessing the settings you can use the slider to set the right maturity level for your ward or do it manually by entering specific tiles you wish to restrict
- Under that same “parental control” look for your profile, navigate using the down arrow, and check on the profile lock. This action will demand you to enter your Netflix credentials and also set a 4-digit PIN to lock your kids from accessing your profile to watch movies not tailored for kids.
- Now parental control is activated, under your child’s profile you can review their activities regularly to ensure they match your expectations of them.
IN CONCLUSION
Yes! Technology is very good but it also has its negative side and we have a responsibility as parents, and caregivers to make sure that our wards get the best out of technology. Enabling parental controls on screen can go a long way to check kids and help impact the positive effect of technology on them.
